"Nobody cares", Fiverr? I certainly do.

A few weeks ago, an advertisement made by Fiverr began to make the rounds:

I, and a lot of others, find this incredibly insulting to every Fiverr creator - no matter their stance on AI.

Fiverr started in 2010 as a place for professionals to sell their skills. Be appreciated and paid for them.

This advertisement, as innocent and maybe even agreeable to some as it may seem, is invalidating to EVERY other field that has spent years putting hard work and effort into building their presence on their platform. Who wants to spend hours promoting and selling on a platform that's going to turn around and spit in their face by choosing to ignore the amazing things people are making and focus on the fact that no one gives a shit if you use AI, and that you should just hire AI experts?

It's really saddening to see Fiverr take such a detour like this - I had been banned from the platform for a good while due to not being able to satisfy a KYC, and it feels like ever since I came back the quality of everything got a million times worse. People put less effort into their listings, the homepage was dominated by AI months before this video, and the site gets less customers as a result. Not to mention the pay to win bullshit of Seller Plus and just generally how unprofessional the site feels compared to how it used to.

I've thrown in the towel because of this. I will no longer sell on Fiverr. ever.

I'm putting my potential money where my mouth is, and I won't tolerate companies that promote AI as a replacement to human creativity and actively make a song and dance about it like children.
